She’s now been promoted to Business Development Manager, where she’ll use her expertise in client services to strengthen and expand our client relationships. We look forward to seeing your continued growth, Kaylee. You’re going to do amazing things in your new role! We’re also thrilled to welcome Danyiel to 33 as our new Assistant Property Manager! Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Danyiel previously worked as a Resident Services Coordinator. She is excited to be part of a dynamic team where she can use her background as a Resident service coordinator to promote community inclusion. With her strong background in resident services and deep understanding of the multifamily industry, we can’t wait to see all she’ll accomplish at 33. Welcome aboard, Danyiel!

Last weekend, our Finance Operations Director, Angela Mejia-Garces, completed the Chicago Marathon! 🏃♀️ This was Ángela's 12th marathon and her third time running Chicago, finishing with an impressive time of 3:33:02. 🙌 Running fuels her passion for discipline, determination, and dedication, qualities she applies to all aspects of her life. She also shares her love for the sport by training other runners. Three of her trainees completed their first marathon at this year’s race. You're an inspiration to us all, Ángela! Keep up the amazing work! 🏅

In observance of Indigenous Peoples' Day, our office will be closed on Monday, October 14th. This day is an important reminder to reflect on the history, resilience, and impact of Indigenous communities. We encourage everyone to take this opportunity to educate themselves on the significance of this day and the ongoing efforts to recognize and uplift Indigenous voices. In addition, they will host an "Indigenous People's Day Powwow," honoring the achievements of Illinois's Native community. This includes the statewide inclusion of Indigenous histories in public schools and the establishment of the state's first Indian Reservation for the Prairie Band of Potawatomi Nation. The powwow is free to the public and will take place from 4-8pm on October 14th. 📖 The Newberry Library's "Indigenous Chicago" exhibit runs from September 12, 2024, to January 4, 2024. Spanning over five centuries of history on the land now known as Chicago, the exhibit centers Indigenous voices, examines the impacts of settler colonialism, and envisions Indigenous futures.

Take a look at the fantastic resident events our property managers hosted in September! ✨ 🍔 606 Blue residents enjoyed a rooftop BBQ, where our amazing maintenance team grilled delicious food while everyone relaxed and connected. 🍗 Low-Line Commons hosted two fantastic events for their community! They kicked off with Wing Wednesday, serving tasty chicken wings, followed by Fiesta Friday, where residents made their own tacos. 🍓 Wicker Park Connection made mornings easier with a grab-and-go breakfast, giving residents the perfect start to their day. A huge thank you to all our property managers for their hard work in making these September events memorable!

Last week, the 33 team gathered for a company picnic at the beautiful rooftop of Low-Line Commons, one of the buildings we manage and lease in Lakeview! 🧺 After a busy summer, we were grateful for the chance to come together and celebrate all we’ve accomplished as a team. We enjoyed the stunning skyline views while catching up with each other and playing friendly games of badminton, Jenga, and pickleball at Low-Line's court. The highlight for many was the mouth-watering BBQ catered by Soul and Smoke! 🍖 Sticking to our yearly tradition, we held an award ceremony to honor individuals who made a significant impact at 33 over the past year. From Rookie of the Year to Guiding Light awards, we recognized both new and veteran team members. 🏆 Supervisors presented the awards, sharing the heartfelt words of praise from their teammates. We’re so thankful for the chance to connect with our team, especially those we don’t see every day. A huge thank you to everyone for their hard work this season - Your dedication is what makes 33 so exceptional!
