🍔🍟 The Arby's National Case Competition: Bringing 9th Grade Learning to Life This year, 9th grade students from 56 3DE schools tackled a case challenge from Arby’s: How can Arby’s enhance the customer experience to better appeal to 13-17-year-olds? After weeks of research, data collection, and developing solutions, four finalist teams were selected to compete for the national title: 🏆 South Side High School - Fort Wayne, IN 🏆 Innovation High School - Orlando, FL 🏆 South Gwinnett High School - Snellville, GA 🏆 Lakewood High School - St. Petersburg, FL The 2025 champions? South Gwinnett High School with their Blind Bite challenge – a social media guessing game where customers buy a mystery meal, guess which celebrity curated it, and are entered to win a video message from the star!  The judges said the competition was extremely close, but South Gwinnett stood out for making a strong connection between their solution and their survey data —the key business tool for this case challenge. 💬 “You guys nailed it—great use of data, brand awareness, and competitor research.” – Jackye Watkins, Regional VP, Arby’s Huge thanks to Arby's, Inspire Brands, and Arby's Foundation for making this National Case Challenge possible for the FIFTH year! 🏅We are beyond thrilled to have wrapped up the 5th Annual The Home Depot National Case Competition! 👏🛠️ A massive thank you to The Home Depot for their continued support and for making this incredible event possible year after year. This year, over 4,300 students from 41 schools across the country participated in the competition, tackling a real-world challenge posed by The Home Depot. Their task? To step into the role of the Innovation Team and develop a creative and innovative shopping experience for DIYers. In a highly competitive final round, the judges—including Teresa Roseborough, Christopher Duffy, Chuyu Xi, and Sherry Yaskin from The Home Depot—were so impressed by the presentations that they decided to name two champions this year: 🏆 South Gwinnett High School - for their innovative “Test-it-Yourself workshops” that allow customers to try tools before purchasing! ️ 🏆 West Forsyth High School - for their idea to make DIY more accessible with “Do It Depot Kits” featuring personalized manuals and kits tailored to every experience level. 3DE students aren’t just competing in a case challenge—they’re developing the skills and creativity that companies like The Home Depot are looking for. As Sherry Yaskin, VP of Human Resources at The Home Depot, told the students: 💬 "When you're ready to work for Home Depot—because we want you to work for Home Depot—I'm the girl you want to contact. You are each so talented and we could use folks who are as innovative, as creative, and as smart as you guys are." Meet Cimone Jefferson: 3DE Graduate of Norcross High School Cimone Jefferson, a Georgia Southern University graduate and current master’s candidate in Luxury Brand Management at SCAD, is an alumna of the inaugural 3DE cohort at Norcross High School. 🎓 Reflecting on her experience, Cimone credits 3DE with opening doors she hadn’t considered before. “Junior Achievement and 3DE gave me so much exposure to companies,” she says. During college, internships with the Atlanta Hawks and JPMorganChase provided her with hands-on experience in diverse fields—opportunities she first discovered through 3DE. “I had exposure to both organizations in high school, which helped me establish my network early on.” The skills Cimone gained through 3DE continue to benefit her today. “Out of all my years of schooling, 3DE has been the most #impactful and #memorable educational experience. There are so many moments in my adult life where I realize the first time I learned something was in a 3DE classroom." Looking back, Cimone recalls the sense of #community that shaped her high school experience. “In 3DE, you’re in a cohort where you’re trying new things, getting exposed to so many ideas, and dreaming big together.” The supportive environment left a lasting impression: “It was always fun, we were always heard, and the structure felt a lot like the #realworld.” To students considering 3DE, Cimone encourages them to take the leap, emphasizing “3DE supports students no matter their plans after high school—whether they want to be entrepreneurs or even choose not to attend college. 🌟 Shaping the Future, One Mindset at a Time  🌟 At 3DE, we believe that the right #mindset is the cornerstone of success. That's why we're proud to prepare our students with the Shape Your Mindset Series by Sara Blakely, founder of Spanx—and now Sneex. This series is designed to equip students with the tools they need to navigate challenges, embrace their authentic selves, and pursue their dreams with confidence.     The Mindset series, which now reaches over 15,000 students across 60 schools, instills four core tenets: #Authenticity, #Confidence, #Curiosity, and #Determination. These tenets aren't just taught—they're practiced and revisited year after year, building a strong foundation for lifelong growth. Students learn to take on challenges, value progress, and see every failure as a step closer to success.      This year, as Sara Blakely launches her new brand Sneex, she exemplifies the lessons of our Mindset Series. From trusting her gut and embracing failure to staying true to her purpose, Sara embodies the #entrepreneurial and #resilient mindset we teach our students. In 9th Grade, they discover their purpose like Sara did with Sneex—a product that brings her joy and fulfills a need. By 11th Grade, they’re practicing how to trust their gut—just as Sara listened to her intuition to develop her innovative hybrid stiletto. And throughout their four years, our students learn to reframe failure, embracing it as a steppingstone to success, just as Sara did during the challenging nine-year journey of creating  Sneex.     At 3DE, we’re not just preparing students for high school—we’re preparing them for life. The Mindset Series sets the tone for a year of personal growth, empowering students to take ownership of their learning and view their teachers as partners in achieving their goals.     Thank you, Sara, for inspiring our students to dream big, take risks, and stay determined.
