What are the risk and protective factors associated with the time it takes service members and their spouses to adjust post-deployment and do these factors vary by the spouse’s gender? A-G Associates’ Principal Researcher Sidra Montgomery, Ph.D. recently participated in a collaborative study using Millennium Cohort Family Study data and logistic regressions to explore whether spouse gender moderated risk and protective factors associated with post-deployment adjustment. The findings from this study were published in a co-authored article published in Military Psychology last week and demonstrate the importance of tailored military family support programs to address the needs of different populations of military spouses. As a part of #TeamAG’s DoD Research & Evaluation team, Sidra’s social science research on issues affecting military personnel, Veterans, and their families continues to shape important narratives regarding policy-relevant issues for gender parity and inclusion in the military. A-G Associates is proud to continue our ongoing partnership with Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)’s Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) with the award of a new five-year Logistical Support, OD Support, and Operation Support Contract. Over the past five years, #TeamA-G has worked shoulder to shoulder with CMHS to enable more 1,500 high-impact in-person and virtual meetings, events, conferences, trainings, stakeholder and grantee engagements, and other related events; and supported more than 300 high-priority briefings, policy papers, environmental scans to tool kits, training curricula, and reports to Congress and the White House addressing nationwide programmatic initiatives like the implementation of the 988 Mental Health Crisis Line and the Kids Online Health and Safety Report. With the award of this recompeted contract, we look forward to continuing this meaningful work for years to come!
