About us

For more than four decades, A Safe Place has provided services to victims of domestic violence & human trafficking and their families in Lake County, Illinois. A Safe Place is guided by the following mission: As the leading advocate for eliminating domestic violence and human trafficking in northern Illinois, A Safe Place provides a 24-hour crisis line, emergency shelter, individual therapy, family therapy, art therapy, group therapy, affordable housing, advocacy, education and outreach, supportive services to survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking and their children, a mentoring program, custody exchanges, supervised visitations, assistance with orders of protections, and intervention services for abusers to learn accountability for their choices and actions. A Safe Place strives to lessen the impact abuse has had on adults and children by providing services that remove barriers to leaving their abuser and transforming their lives after abuse. Programs and services of A Safe Place are evidenced-based, client-centered, and reflect a trauma-informed approach to direct services for survivors of domestic abuse and their children. Services were designed to meet the immediate crisis and long term needs of domestic violence & human trafficking victims and their children and to prevent domestic violence & human trafficking.

This daylong meeting will begin at 9am with a resource and information session until 10:00 am. Sign in will close at 10am. Opening remarks and presentations will begin roughly around 10:00am and will end at 4pm. This event will be held at: 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝗔𝟬𝟭𝟭 (𝗟𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹) 𝟭𝟵𝟯𝟱𝟭 𝗪 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗸𝗲, 𝗜𝗟 𝟲𝟬𝟬𝟯𝟬 We will have different topics discussed during this meeting including, ✔𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 ✔𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟭𝟬𝟭 There will be a lunch break from 12:30-1:45pm. Attendees are able to leave campus to get their own lunch if they wish. Or there is an option to eat on campus.     The 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 & 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 invite you to join us for our third annual 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗧𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟴, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰, 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟵-𝟰𝗽𝗺. This daylong meeting will begin at 9am with a resource and information session until 10:00 am. Sign in will close at 10am. Opening remarks and presentations will begin roughly around 10:00am and will end at 4pm. This event will be held at: 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝗔𝟬𝟭𝟭 (𝗟𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹) 𝟭𝟵𝟯𝟱𝟭 𝗪 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗸𝗲, 𝗜𝗟 𝟲𝟬𝟬𝟯𝟬 We will have different topics discussed during this meeting including, ✔ 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 ✔ 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟭𝟬𝟭 There will be a lunch break from 12:30-1:45pm. Attendees are able to leave campus to get their own lunch if they wish. Or there is an option to eat on campus. During the afternoon we will continue with the rest of the presentations, ✔ 𝗜𝗺𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 ✔ 𝗟𝗮𝘄 𝗘𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀, 𝗤 & 𝗔, 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺.
