Ashlyn Ballard is our Client Service Orientation winner. 🎉 She is the Senior Coordinator of Marketing Excellence in the Department of Excellence. Ashlyn is known for her drive to achieve. She understands what clients need and can make communication fun and engaging. “I know the importance of clear, effective, and honest communication,” Ashlyn said. “Being in marketing allows me to utilize creativity in delivering results while remaining authentic in our messaging. It’s important to us and our clients that we operate with excellence.” The Abacus Value Award for Client Service Orientation recognizes an employee who effectively communicates, leads with innovation, has a sense of urgency and produces quality work. “I’m incredibly grateful to be recognized for my desire to elevate our staff and our projects. I have a high regard for what it means to deliver greatness to those around me,” she said. Ashlyn looks forward to continuing to provide the Abacus experience to clients and employees. “I’m proud of what our team has accomplished over the past couple of years, and I am excited to set big goals with expectations of going above and beyond. Austin Bordovsky is our Positive Attitude Values Award winner. 🎉 He is an accountant in our Fayetteville office. Austin is a recent graduate of the Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas. He interned for nearly two years before joining the team full time. He is known around the office for enthusiastically taking on tasks and enhancing the team’s spirit and productivity. “My positive attitude award does not necessarily mean being in a good mood every day but lifting the people around me in the office and my team. Making sure everyone around me is prepared, confident, and happy with their output,” he said. “I also think it’s important to take time out of your day to ask about how people are and actually listen to what is going on with their lives.” The Abacus Value Award for Positive Attitude recognizes an employee who leads a coachable mindset, encourages cooperation and believes the intentions and abilities of others are good. “I was not expecting to win an award during my first year as a full-time staff, but I am grateful of my team, my supervisor, and the partners for having enough faith in my to even be considered for this award. It is nice to be noticed and to know that all the hard work I’ve put in has been seen,” he said. Austin is looking forward to becoming a supervisor and continuing to spread a positive attitude on his team. This week, we're highlighting our 2024 Abacus Values Award winners 🎉 Candice Alcantar is our Ownership Value Award winner. She is a Senior Client Support Specialist in the Transportation Department. When Candice started at Abacus in 2020, she quickly became a leader in her department by eagerly taking on tasks and intentionally learning every day. Candice is known for taking ownership in all areas of her life. When others call on her for a task, they know it’ll be completed accurately and timely. “To me, ownership means ensuring my clients are taken care of and that my kids know I am always here for them,” Candice said. “I live this value by addressing and listening to clients’ concerns, finding resolutions, and building great relationships. I show up to their games for my kids and make time to be active in their lives as their support system.” The Abacus Value Award for Ownership recognizes an employee with exemplary pride in their work, a desire to succeed and loyalty. “I was shocked to receive the award, but I’m very honored to be recognized by Abacus. I’m grateful that I can continue to make impact within the firm,” she said. Looking ahead, Candice is eager to become more active in preparing tax returns and growing as a supervisor.
