As telehealth continues to transform the healthcare industry, it gives us a chance to address challenges in health equity. Last month, AbleTo participated in the webinar “Let’s Talk Techquity.” Alongside healthcare leaders across the United States, Sarah Gaffey, LCSW, our VP of Clinical & Coaching Service Delivery discussed health technology equity–or ‘techquity.’ Three major themes emerged: 💻 Virtual healthcare resolves major access barriers. Panelists' examples included school-based services to scalable specialty support. With our partners, AbleTo has delivered services in over 91% of counties in mental health professional shortage areas, and the majority of participants have their first therapy session quickly–in 7 days or less. 👥 Customizing care delivery is key to creating access. Examples of this ranged from user-testing telehealth platforms to developing parallel ecosystems. Our approach includes provider cultural competency training, care that bridges mental+physical health, and more. The results? 92% of participants seeking culturally competent care saying their needs are met, and our therapy programs maintain a high NPS of +74. 📈 A data-driven approach sustains a positive impact. Panelists shared examples of the information they monitor in care delivery, including resource allocation, patient outcomes, engagement, and satisfaction. On our side, AbleTo’s evidence-based, data-driven approach helps us to optimize program design with consideration of the demographics of our participants. Interested in learning more? It’s World Mental Health Day — a special opportunity for our global community of providers to advocate for mental health. This year, we’re exploring the impact mapping out our boundaries can have on our well-being. Boundaries are principles that help us prioritize our values and give us a sense of control and direction. They keep us on track toward our goals and our vision for the future by reminding us of what matters most. In the field of mental health, we can sometimes forget our boundaries as we care for others. But they’re even more important in these cases, so that we can fully show up for others. So, we’ll take the next week to review 6 types — physical, time, emotional, professional, intellectual, and digital — with tips on how to put them into practice. How do you set boundaries in your day-to-day work as a provider? 👇 #WorldMentalHealthDay2024 #Boundaries #WMHD2024 #Mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealth #selfcare #worldmentalhealthday #mentalhealthawareness #wellbeing #workplacewellness
