Under ACDI/VOCA’s management of the Leader with Associates (LWA) award, our team has been responsible for managing five USAID coordination programs across East Africa that utilized CLA principles to focus on research, multi-donor, and program collaborations with local and national government entities. Through this collaboration, we produced policy documents and co-implementation initiatives to increase access to water and livestock markets and support initiatives on disaster preparedness by local and national governments. Under the LWA, we held forums in #Kenya, #Uganda #Somalia and soon to be #Ethiopia that share and adopt best practices for replication and adoption in areas of conflict, #resilience, education, graduating from poverty approaches, food security, nutrition, and land tenure. In Burkina Faso’s Centre Nord region, traditional gender norms have long held women back from leadership and decision-making roles. However, the USAID-funded Victory Against Malnutrition Plus (ViMPlus) Project, implemented by ACDI/VOCA, is helping change that. By using radio messages and family dialogues led by religious leaders, the project challenges harmful norms, promoting gender equality and empowering women to participate in their communities. In this case study by Nathalie M. Me-Nsope, discover how ViMPlus is driving real change and improving food security through gender-focused strategies: https://bit.ly/3XU5TDb #GenderEquality #GenderNorms #CommunityDevelopment

From the Pamirs Mountains of #Tajikistan to the Polish Markets! Shughnon-based dried fruits processor Tuti Pomir recently celebrated a milestone event, successfully exporting seven tons of high-quality premium dried mulberries to Poland. Sourced from the Pamirs mountains, these mulberries are renowned for their exceptional quality and flavor. Through the Market Driven Rural Development (MDRD) Activity, which we proudly implement, USAID recently handed over modern equipment to Tuti Pomir aiming to increase the company's drying and packaging capacity and expand access to the domestic and export markets. MDRD has also facilitated this important export by connecting the exporter with a reliable local transport company, ensuring timely and efficient delivery to a client’s point. This successful export not only highlights the potential of high-quality agricultural products but also underscores the importance of support systems in boosting local businesses. More exports to other European markets are planned by end of this year.
