High Reliability Group LLC is now providing supplier quality services to the Submarine and Aircraft Carrier Industrial Base. This week, HRG Senior Advisor Kevin Mooney (pictured here with MMA Chairman John Rhatigan PE), spoke at the Marine Machinery Association and American Shipbuilding Suppliers Association October Meeting at Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing (ATDM) in Danville, VA. Kevin discussed the supplier quality environment at Electric Boat and Newport News Shipyards and offered a range of services to help suppliers prepare for audits and upgrade their Quality Management Systems. HRG has an impressive lineup of Navy Nuclear trained consultants, who would love to help bolster the shipbuilding supplier base during this period of rapid growth. Are you due for a supplier audit from Electric Boat and Newport News Shipyard? Please contact Kevin Mooney or Tim Doelger if interested. We are here to help! At the The Hill's Future of Defense Summit yesterday, Representative Rob Wittman (R-VA) brought up a crucial point: the U.S. needs to step up shipbuilding efforts to stay strong on the global stage. Steady funding for aircraft carriers is vital for the industrial base and it’s important we stay on track in the production of these state-of-the-art national security assets. What a great looking tour! These kind of engagements are crucial for our industrial base - allowing key stakeholders to understand the crucial role that companies like Riggins play in the development of our nation's carriers. We thank Riggins Company for hosting and Mr. Gene Garland for attending!
Yesterday, we hosted Sen. Mark Warner’s Military Liaison and Outreach Coordinator Gene Garland at our facility in Hampton, VA where he learned about our contributions to US Navy aircraft carriers. During the tour, Mr. Garland met a member of our apprentice program, Riggins Military Veterans, and got a behind-the-scenes look at how our small business makes some cool, BIG stuff in support of the Navy. We thank the Senator and his staff for supporting the defense industrial base in Virginia and for taking the time to drop by.
