At the The Hill's Future of Defense Summit yesterday, Representative Rob Wittman (R-VA) brought up a crucial point: the U.S. needs to step up shipbuilding efforts to stay strong on the global stage. Steady funding for aircraft carriers is vital for the industrial base and it’s important we stay on track in the production of these state-of-the-art national security assets. What a great looking tour! These kind of engagements are crucial for our industrial base - allowing key stakeholders to understand the crucial role that companies like Riggins play in the development of our nation's carriers. We thank Riggins Company for hosting and Mr. Gene Garland for attending!
Yesterday, we hosted Sen. Mark Warner’s Military Liaison and Outreach Coordinator Gene Garland at our facility in Hampton, VA where he learned about our contributions to US Navy aircraft carriers. During the tour, Mr. Garland met a member of our apprentice program, Riggins Military Veterans, and got a behind-the-scenes look at how our small business makes some cool, BIG stuff in support of the Navy. We thank the Senator and his staff for supporting the defense industrial base in Virginia and for taking the time to drop by.
