AIRC provides a collaboration platform for engaging stakeholders within the extended DoD Acquisition Enterprise, thought leaders from across the nation, and researchers across academia. The Acquisition Innovation Research Center (AIRC) was established September 2020 to support the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD (A&S)) to infuse innovation and alternative methods needed to better respond to the rapid increase of technological advancements critical to today's warfighter.

A new #AIRC report by Daniel Selva and Theodora Chaspari of Texas A&M University and Dr. Alejandro Salado of the University of Arizona discusses cognitive assistants for training #acquisition personnel in the #DoD. From the executive summary: "Results from the lab experiment showed that students who used the cognitive assistant scored six points higher in the test than students without access to the assistant, suggesting that this technology is promising to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of workforce training." The fifth #AI4SE & #SE4AI workshop is underway! This two-day event #SERC and the U.S. Army DEVCOM Armaments Center are hosting at George Mason University will feature 40 technical presentations, two panels, and keynotes from George Mason Professor Missy Cummings, Daniel Mahanty of the Civilian Protection Center of Excellence, and Matthew Rose of Snowflake and The Acquisition Innovation Research Center (AIRC).
