Depois de um dinossauro, crianças. Mais exatamente, meninos e meninas surgindo em programas de jornalismo como se fossem profissionais da previsão do tempo na TV. No caso, os jovens “meteorologistas” falam sobre efeitos das mudanças climáticas. Esse é o conceito da campanha “Weather Kids”, da Activista para o PNUD, Programa das Nações Unidas para o Desenvolvimento. A agência conquistou reconhecimento com um filme de 2021, que viralizou: “Don’t Choose Extinction”. em que um dinossauro adentra a Assembleia Geral da ONU para alertar sobre a crise climática. Lançada recentemente, a nova campanha foi desenvolvida em colaboração com a Organização Meteorológica Mundial e a empresa The Weather Channel. Ela faz um chamado urgente em nome das próximas gerações. A iniciativa quer levar a mensagem do PNUD para diferentes regiões do planeta. Crianças já estrelaram os boletins meteorológicos em mais de 80 países. Foram feitas previsões em 44 línguas, entre elas o português. Doze versões foram produzidas com uma ferramenta de IA. Nos EUA, o público foi surpreendido ao sintonizar noticiários locais para checar o tempo. Embora o formato seja familiar, as previsões apresentadas pelas crianças não eram as típicas. Proud to present our new global campaign for the UNDP, #WeatherKids For one day, kids took over the weather reports of networks from over 80 countries. Rather than the usual meteorologists, viewers worldwide were greeted by children presenting weather reports from the year 2050. We combined IPCC weather prediction data with children's logic urging all of us to pledge for climate action for all future generations.
