People with disabilities are just like you and I – they have families, jobs, hobbies, preferences, and problems and successes. While disability is integral to identity, it does not define someone. Everyone is responsible for fostering an equitable, inclusive environment, where all are equal members of society. Treat everyone with respect, regardless of their identities and teach your loved ones to do the same. #DisabilityPrideMonth

Meet Janet Wilson, a dedicated Head Start floater with an incredible 51 years of service! 🌟 Born in Bayonne, NJ, Janet’s Head Start journey began in 1972 when her daughter enrolled in the program. Her passion lies in positively impacting children and recognizing their learning potential. “I began volunteering at the age of 13 with the Salvation Army Bible School, working with young children, which planted the seed for my career in early childhood education,” Janet said. She has held various roles at Bayonne Head Start, including being a teacher and teacher assistant. Mayor James Davis honored her on Dec. 14, 2022, with “Miss Janet Wilson Day” for her 50 years of service at Bayonne. Join us in celebrating Ms. Wilson, a true example of Head Start dedication and excellence! 🎉 #DirectorSpotlight
