Here's my take on what's happening: AI-powered buying isn't just a feature anymore - it's becoming the default. When Meta's CFO says Advantage+ shopping is growing 70% year-over-year and could bring in $20B annually, that tells you a lot about where we're all headed. A "black box" concern has been raised and it is legitimate. When marketers can't control which audiences they're targeting or where their ads appear, that's not just an inconvenience - it fundamentally changes the relationship between brands and their marketing output. But here's where I see a different path forward than the article suggests: The future isn't about surrendering control to AI entirely OR fighting against automation.
