About us

Advanced Robotics at the University of Washington (ARUW) is a student-run competitive robotics team. Engineering and business students come together to build nine robots to compete in the RoboMaster competition, held annually in Shenzhen, China. ARUW provides its student members with hands-on experience in robotics development, engineering management, and business. Through ARUW, student members learn to use professional grade tools and work in a small team to design, build, and test integrated robotic systems. Student leads learn about engineering and business management, gaining insight into all aspects of the project as a whole including project management, budget management, and recruitment.

  • Four-time RoboMaster North American Champions! We are proud to announce that we are the four-time RoboMaster North American Champions! Going undefeated in the elimination rounds of both the 1v1 and 3v3 confrontations!   This past June, our team ventured to the high altitudes of Boulder, Colorado to compete against 25 teams from across the globe at RMNA 2024.   We want to thank CU Robotics for hosting the event and the amazing RoboMaster North America volunteers and staff who helped the event run.   Looking forward to seeing you all again next summer in San Diego!
