It all starts with…innovation. Last week, Kori Anderson, Vice President and General Manager of Nylon Solutions at AdvanSix, joined industry leaders at the CIEX Chemical Innovation Summit to explore the essential role the chemical industry plays in achieving circularity. One of the ways we’re contributing to circularity at AdvanSix is with our Post-Industrial Recycled and Post-Consumer Recycled grades Aegis® Nylon resins. They provide reliable, cost-effective, fully traceable, 100% recycled materials that don’t compromise on quality. Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the Chemical Innovation Exchange Summit (CIEX Chemical Innovation Summit 2024), where industry experts gathered to foster innovation in circularity. This was the first CIEX event in the US, following several successful events in Europe, and it was excellent! I participated in a panel with David Thomas and Christopher Guthrie, moderated by Kevin Norfleet. We discussed pivotal role of the chemical industry in realizing circularity. The discussion was invigorating and thoughtful, and the energy in the room was electrifying. We challenged each other to inspire the next generation of scientists to join us on the circularity journey. It’s crucial that we invest in STEM and support innovators pushing towards circularity. We must also be intentional in creating opportunities for students who may lack the resources to pursue a career in STEM. I encourage you to join AdvanSix in supporting the Future of STEM Scholars Initiative (FOSSI). FOSSI works to provide scholarships to students pursuing an education in STEM, helping to eliminate financial barriers for historically under-represented groups. Thank you The Heritage Group for hosting us in Indianapolis. We are looking forward to next year! Megan O'Meara Rachel Jones Tom Clark Amy Schumacher Sibel Selcuk Osama M. “We make food for plants, so they can grow the food we eat," Mike Hamilton, Vice President and Business Director of AdvanSix's Plant Nutrients business recently shared with a group of third graders. Along with Mike, some of our Hopewell team brought soil science to life at Harry E. James Elementary School. Through a fun, interactive lesson, students discovered the importance of healthy soil and fertilizer in agriculture. We're committed to fostering the next generation of STEM leaders by sparking curiosity in young minds. Sulfate levels in the atmosphere have dropped over the past 25 years. As a result, crops like soybeans, which rely on sulfur as a nutrient, now receive less of it from natural atmospheric sources. Farmers are compensating for this by applying sulfur-based fertilizers that support crop growth and yields. At AdvanSix, we're agroscience leaders, continually innovating to find new solutions to help farmers grow food to feed people around the world. On field after field, Sulf-N® ammonium sulfate fertilizers have proven to be an excellent source of the readily-available sulfur and ammonium nitrogen crops crave. Join Missy Bauer, Independent Crop Consultant at B&M Crop Consulting, for a webinar on October 30th, where she'll dig into the best products, timing and methods to get the most out of sulfur. We’re proud to see AdvanSix President and CEO and American Chemistry Council (ACC) board member, Erin Kane, featured by the ACC as one of the very best in the U.S. chemicals industry. Recently, she sat down with ACC to talk about how #itallstartswith...science-minded leaders to meet the challenges of tomorrow. https://lnkd.in/ejUDPDvt [axios.com]
Two ACC member company leaders—Erin Kane, president and CEO of AdvanSix and Karen McKee, president of ExxonMobil Product Solutions—together represent the very best of the U.S. #chemicals industry. Both are smart, passionate change-makers who are committed to seeing our industry continue to become safer and more sustainable through #ResponsibleCare®. And both have served as the chair of ACC’s Board of Directors—Karen in 2023, and Erin in 2024—which has allowed them to steer ACC’s advocacy toward their shared vision for the future of our association and the U.S. chemicals industry. Erin and Karen are also dedicated to supporting and engaging with the communities in which they operate—a major priority not only for ACC members, but for ACC staff as well. ACC will continue to invite constructive and meaningful dialogue with community members, with a focus on identifying collaborative solutions to shared challenges. And that’s why ACC is so grateful to have leaders like Erin Kane and Karen McKee guiding us forward. #GoodChemistry #Leadership #Safety #Sustainability https://ow.ly/hjNp50TG2Bi

We couldn’t agree more with Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Kelly Slieter’s reflection. Prioritizing mental health is not only essential for individual well-being, but it’s also crucial for fostering a thriving workplace culture. At AdvanSix, we’re committed to supporting our team’s mental health and creating an environment where everyone feels supported. #ItAllStartsWith #BeCurious #MentalHealth #WorldMentalHealthDay
Last year, I shared a thought that continues to resonate with me, and it's even more relevant today... The human brain processes around 74 gigabytes of information each day – this is as much information as our ancestors might have processed in their entire lifetime. Despite accounting for only 2% of our body weight, the brain uses around 20% of our energy! So, it's no surprise that people are feeling more exhausted and worn out than ever before. Constantly consuming information at this rate takes its toll. That's why I’m a strong believer in the power of pause. Pausing before responding, before reacting, to fully digest and understand, and most importantly, to give your brain a break. For companies like AdvanSix, this highlights the need to prioritize mental health in the workplace. When we foster environments where employees feel mentally supported and have the space to pause, we empower them to bring their best selves to work. The power of pause also extends to our relationships at work. Taking a moment to pause and truly connect with the people around us can have a profound impact. I encourage managers to pause and get to know their teams on a deeper level, and for teammates to check in with one another. When we pause to listen and understand the person behind the role, we create a more supportive, thriving and high-performing environment. So, ask yourself – are you pausing to be curious about what motivates your colleagues or what’s on their minds? Supporting mental health and building a culture where everyone can thrive requires all of us to take a step back, reflect and engage with genuine care. #ItAllStartsWith #BeCurious #MentalHealth #WorldMentalHealthDay
