AdventHealth Sebring President and CEO Jason Dunkel recently welcomed the hospital's graduate medical education (GME) residents to join his family for a home-cooked meal. 🍴 As our GME program provides these doctors with the next step in their medical training, it is also vital for the future of health care in rural areas to ensure they experience all the charm of a small-town community like Sebring:

AdventHealth leadership, government officials and community members recently came together for the groundbreaking of AdventHealth Wesley Chapel's new hospital expansion. This project, which is expected to be ready by late 2025, will increase the hospital's licensed beds from 169 to 193, with room for two more 24-bed units in the future. The new addition will also allow for more operating rooms, endoscopy suites, pre- and post-procedure beds and additional advanced imaging. AdventHealth continues to rise to meet the growing needs of Pasco County, and we look forward to seeing this new expansion come to life!

Illuminating hope through an evening of generosity! The 2024 AdventHealth Starlight Gala brought together the community in a powerful show of support for women’s and children’s health care services across the Tampa Bay region. AdventHealth Foundation West Florida leaders were thrilled to announce that Darcie Glazer Kassewitz, owner and co-chairman of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, president of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Foundation and president of the Glazer Vision Foundation, will serve as chair of the 2025 AdventHealth West Florida Starlight Gala. We look forward to seeing the impact of her leadership on next year's event! Making this wonderful night even more memorable, the Glazer family shared that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have made a $3 million donation that will continue to illuminate hope by funding health care access, quality of care, innovation projects and more at AdventHealth Tampa. We are incredibly grateful for this generous gift that will help us reach new heights in patient care. We are happy to share that Peggy Maguire, Director of Risk Management for AdventHealth Dade City and AdventHealth Zephyrhills, was recently elected to the Florida Society for Healthcare Risk Management and Patient Safety (FSHRMPS) Board of Directors. Peggy and her team play a pivotal role in keeping patients safe and providing exceptional whole-person care. Congratulations to Peggy on this well-deserved achievement!

Four AdventHealth West Florida hospitals have been honored with Chest Pain-MI Registry Performance Achievement Awards for 2024 through the American College of Cardiology (ACC). This recognition is a testament to these teams' dedication to providing leading-edge, evidence-based care that saves lives and fosters long-term heart health for our patients. Congratulations to AdventHealth Wesley Chapel and Pepin Heart Institute at AdventHealth Tampa for achieving the gold award, as well as AdventHealth Carrollwood and AdventHealth Zephyrhills for achieving the silver award.

Congratulations to Dr. Kenneth Yamamura on completing his 100th WATCHMAN procedure at AdventHealth Tampa. Medical advancements like the WATCHMAN can help reduce patients' risk of blood clots and stroke without open-heart surgery or using blood-thinning medications for life. Great work by Dr. Yamamura and his team!
