𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐈𝐈 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔.𝐒. - 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 In this part of our series, we will show a snapshot of the curated experiences designed to display the established and meaningful connection between the U.S. and South Africa in effort build the TRUST critical for early-stage investing. This phase of our journey began with a drive from Joburg to Pretoria to celebrate the 248th Independence Day of the U.S. - yes, Independence Day in September - at the residence of Ambassador Dr. Reuben Brigety, II. This event allowed us to build awareness of the U.S.-South Africa relationship and network with dignitaries, U.S. government agencies, and South African leaders. For something different, on our next trip outside Joburg, we took the Gautrain to Tshwane to visit South Africa’s largest residential tech university, Tshwane University of Technology, as special guests of the Ronnie Mamoepa Annual Lecture. There, we gained insights into the power of government communication and had the privilege to spend time with South Africa's Deputy President, H.E. Paul Mashatile. That day, our connection deepened during a lunch with South Africa’s top media group, which also included a legendary movie producer and actress, beauty brand entrepreneur, and leading venture capital firms. Networking continued with dinners organized by South Africa's largest bank, Standard Bank with top VC/PE leaders. A Joburg highlight was being hosted at Africa's largest stock exchange (16th largest in the world), the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. Thanks to Cleola Kunene, Head of SME Development, for organizing JSE Day, which gave us insights into the JSE's excellence, particularly their SME development program that fosters growth for small and medium enterprises. Each interaction with Joburg’s ecosystem reinforced the power of peer connections. We later traveled to the North West Province, passing diamond mines en route to Sun City and Pilanesberg National Park for an unforgettable safari. On our final day in JoBurg, VC 54 Collective hosted a post-investment summit breakfast, providing insights into how they mitigate risk through SME development, following their $114M raise from Mastercard Foundation and Johnson & Johnson Impact Ventures. Knowing 600 U.S. brands operate in South Africa is one thing but seeing and feeling the U.S.-South Africa connection firsthand sparked new perspectives for the delegates and challenged previous assumptions about the continent of Africa. That sense that you've missed out on something! Beyond the serious business discussions, there were countless moments of laughter and emotion. The warmth and hospitality we experienced, combined with the profound insights we gained, created a deep sense of investor confidence and comfort in South Africa’s future. 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐈 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐱𝐭 Our journey in South Africa began in JoBurg, where we quickly understood that true US-South Africa investment and collaboration hinges on meaningful connections rooted in firsthand experiences and a deep awareness of the South African context. On our first day, we introduced the delegates to the entrepreneurial brilliance of South Africa. We didn’t just hear about the challenges being addressed, we heard about early triumphs from entrepreneurs who shared their inspiring stories, some hailing from the townships we would later visit. This was intentionally not a roadshow; it was about creating a platform to explore mutual value creation. A key takeaway worth noting regarding the US - SA commercial opportunity: South African businesses don’t require aid or savior mentalities. Instead, they need investors and partners who recognize their potential and are focused on scale. Our 1st stop, 22 on Sloane, South Africa’s largest startup campus and business accelerator, before leaving Soweto, where we enjoyed delicious food and visited significant sites, including the Hector Pieterson Museum and Mandela House. These experiences were deeply moving, allowing the delegation to connect with the historical context and spirit of South Africa. Walking down iconic Vilakazi Street and enjoying traditional cuisine helped them appreciate the rich culture. To cap off the day, we shared an intimate dinner, fostering fast friendships that ensured we experienced a traditional South African dessert—Malva cake with extra custard! The connections, insights, and experiences from day one blended seamlessly into a rich recipe for understanding and collaboration. Stay tuned for Part II Kendrall Felder Henri Ward Andrá R. Yesterday in New York, the National Basketball Association (NBA) hosted its first NBA Africa Triple Double Accelerator. 𝟭,𝟭𝟮𝟯,𝟮𝟬𝟬 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮.... 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗚𝗼𝗮𝗹: 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆, 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝘁. This is the first post in a series about the (ADI) Africa Diaspora Invests.-Investor and Executive Tour to South Africa! With this tour we took a different approach to unlocking U.S. early-stage investments in South Africa. CyberAlliance and the Africa Global Chamber of Commerce formed ADI to design programs led by the spirit of Ubuntu -"I am because we are." My partners Kendrall Felder, Dr. Olivier Kamanzi, and I set out to connect our delegation with South Africa culturally and economically. Two weeks after our South Africa - Africa Diaspora Investment Summit in Atlanta, an incredible group of US executives and investors cleaned their schedules for a 2-week journey to South Africa—a win in itself! We are immensely grateful to our hosts at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange JSE (JSE), 22 ON SLOANE, Anza Capital, 54 Collective, USAID, GrindstoneXL, and to our key partners, including SA Innovation Summit, Blueprint Group, Black Business Council (BBC), US Ambassador to South Africa Dr. Reuben Brigety, II, and Standard Bank Group for their warm welcome. Over the coming days, we'll be sharing key highlights to give you a sneak peek. But I have to say, no picture or post can replace seeing Africa on African soil. If you weren’t able to attend this time, no worries—we’re already planning future tours, possibly as soon as later this year. Our belief is cultural connection, cyber trust, board governance, and international market expansion are key to unlocking early-stage investment in South Africa. 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Whether it’s 𝟭𝟯 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀, 𝟭𝟴,𝟳𝟮𝟬 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀, or 𝟭,𝟭𝟮𝟯,𝟮𝟬𝟬 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀, it’s still not enough time to fully experience South Africa! If only we had more time to see all of SA's beautiful provinces and people. South Africa’s beauty, brilliance, and complexity was on full display. Though we couldn’t see it all, the strategic programming included multiple provinces, towns and townships. This wasn’t just a business trip—it was a sacred life-changing realization. Proof that intentional cultural exchange is vital for understanding African context, risk, and seeing the global opportunity and impact of business scale in SA. Special shoutout to US Board Prep and Placement company B-Direct for the cultural immersion aspects of our tour! Stay tuned for updates and announcements on the successes that follow. 1 thing for sure, 2 things for certain—two weeks in South Africa simply isn’t enough. Let’s continue this journey together! Keep showing up CyberAlliance! It was an honor to represent CA in SA and to be joined by a CA team member on his 1st journey to SA. Yes, I was saying something funny, however, this smile was one of 1000 on this trip! Key takeaways from this dialogue: 1. High risk doesn't mean High cost to remediate cyber vulnerabilities! 2. Don't let your people, policies, processes, and technologies be the weak link in a connected value chain! 3. If you've secured the front door to your business, have you secured your side and back doors and windows into your business? 4. You're never too small to be breached! 5. It's more cost effective to integrate cyber security and data privacy considerations early in the entrepreneurial journey than once have finalized product/service development or you start servicing customers. 6. It's not if you're breached, it's when your breached do you have the cyber resiliency to stay in businesses! Kendrall Felder Henri Ward

Global LA CEO with MPA leads foreign direct investment initiatives.

I had the privilege to end my celebration of Black Business Month by joining the African Diaspora Invests Summit led by Larry Yon, II, Kendrall Felder, and Dr. Olivier Kamanzi. It was an enriching experience fostering connections between black Americans and investment opportunities in Africa, nurturing trust within the diaspora. The summit provided valuable insights into the continent, covering a wide range of topics to spur investments that are propelling the startup and entrepreneurship landscapes in Africa. Being recognized with the Ubuntu Ambassador Award during the gala was a true honor, especially sharing this proud moment with my mom. I have only been focusing on the African continent for a few years. I’ve learned so much about the opportunities and challenges. Africa truly is the future! It was also a pleasure to share this time and space with Godfathers of the civil rights movement and African diaspora engagement, Dr. Joseph Beasley and Chuck Barlow. My time in Atlanta celebrating black business has been truly inspiring, leading to meaningful connections and reconnections. Excited to carry forward these impactful conversations and relationships to the west coast in Los Angeles. #BlackBusinessMonth #Africa #AfricanDiaspora #GlobalLA #foreigndirectinvestment Keith Moore Deloris Thomas, Ph.D., MBA Connie Evans Ramona Tascoe Isaac Barnes Audrey Verhaeghe Kevin Burnett II Vincent Berry II Min Ayanda Dlodlo Akash Maharaj Tayo Adesanya Rama Montakhabi
