  • 🏗️ We are officially “beaming” at ALB! Check out the latest - Crews have begun erecting steel for what is going to be an exciting addition to ALB’s terminal! If you’re traveling through ALB, or picking up or dropping off passengers, please remember the following during construction activities: #PlanAhead #BePrepared #ArriveTwoHoursEarly ➡️ Some sidewalks and vestibules remain closed. Follow signage when getting to and from the terminal. ➡️ Driving in front of the terminal? Follow signage and directions from security personnel. ➡️ E-Lot and hotel shuttle pick-up is across the street from baggage claim exit. Follow signage. ➡️ Ride share pick up is located to the right when you exit baggage claim. Please remember to stay on sidewalk. ❌ REMEMBER - Curbside parking is NEVER permitted. Please use cell phone lot or short term parking if picking up passengers. A few other helpful travel tips: 🕰️ All travelers are urged to arrive at the airport no less than TWO HOURS prior to their flight’s scheduled departure. Doing so will allow ample time to park, check bags if necessary, go through the security checkpoint and arrive at the departure gate. 🚕 Consider using alternate transportation to and from the airport. This will alleviate you having to find parking while also saving you time. ✅ Check- in early either online or by using your airline’s mobile app. Doing so will save you time when you arrive at the airport, especially if you don’t need to check baggage. 🪪 Be sure you have all your documentation, such as identification, boarding pass and any other pertinent documents you may need. 🚫 Before packing, please visit www.tsa.gov to find out which items are prohibited from having in either your carry-on or checked luggage. Be sure also to check to ensure you’re not packing prohibited amounts of liquids, gels, creams, pastes or aerosols. 🧳 Traveling with children? Make sure there are no prohibited items in their luggage. ✔️ Consider TSA PreCheck to speed up and enhance your experience going through the security check point. Learn more at www.tsa.gov. ✈️ Make sure you know your gate number. This info should be on your boarding pass but you can always ask airline personnel, airport staff or check out an arrival/departure monitor inside the terminal. 💻 Please continue to visit https://lnkd.in/gz-Scqjj for info on the project and the latest updates.

  • 🥶 Brisk early morning departures at ALB be like….. The dedicated and talented teams at ALB have been preparing for months for winter weather, and as low temperatures and frost descend on the airport, crews have already begun de-icing aircraft to ensure safe and efficient travel. ❓ What is de-icing? De-icing is a critical maintenance process that removes ice, snow, or frost from an aircraft's surface before takeoff. The process involves spraying heated propylene glycol onto the aircraft to melt ice, snow, or frost which allows for a safe flight. At ALB, we also have a state of the art glycol recovery system in which we collect glycol from the apron after an aircraft is de-iced and bring it to a facility at the airport where it is converted into water.

  • 🇺🇸🇩🇰!! Was our pleasure to welcome 25 students from Herningsholm Vocational College (HVC) in Denmark to the airport to provide them with a tour of the construction site. Hudson Valley Community College has a longstanding partnership with the Danish college and often welcomes students to the Capital Region where they also participate in on-campus activities and workforce development over the course of four weeks. As part of their visit, the students also get the opportunity for external visits to see local employers in their fields of study. Following their tour at the airport, they met with Martin Electric, a contractor who is working at the airport on various activities. They received a detailed presentation from leadership and had the opportunity to ask questions. Thanks for stopping by and we hope you come back to visit us soon! Turner Construction Company

  • At ALB, we’re proud of our partnership with Hudson Valley Community College and the ability to offer a state of the art education facility right at the airport to train the next generation of FAA certified aviation maintenance technicians. On Wednesday, ALB’s interim CEO Peter Stuto and COO John ODonnell, met with HVCC Officer in Charge Louis Coplin at the Aeronautical Technical Institute (ATI) / HVCC West for a brief overview of the program and tour of the facility. We look forward to continuing to work together to ensure we’re creating career and educational opportunities for students across the region who have a desire to work in the aviation industry.
