JW Marriott to debut in Krakow, Poland. JW Construction Holding S. A. , one of Poland’s leading real estate development companies, is introducing the prestigious JW Marriott brand to Krakow, with plans to establish it in a historic former PKO Bank Polski building on Wielopole Street. Revitalizing a Historical Landmark The building, purchased by Wojciechowski in 2017 for PLN 44.1 million, was built in the 1920s and represents a hallmark of Krakow’s modernism by renowned architect Adolf Szyszko-Bohusz. Spanning 7,500 square meters, the building served as a bank for decades, and its rich history includes various transformations—from housing Krakow’s first permanent cinema, "Cyrk Edison," to serving as a German postal office during WWII and a short-lived hospital after the war. Now, thanks to J.W. Construction, it’s on the brink of a new chapter. Overcoming Conservation Challenges Wojciechowski initially envisioned the JW Marriott as "Krakow's finest hotel," yet conservation hurdles delayed the project’s onset for years. The restoration and construction approvals were only secured recently, following a change in the regional conservator’s office. URBA Architects sp. z o.o. designed the comprehensive redevelopment and conservation plan, allowing work to start later this year. Luxury Redefined JW Marriott Krakow will feature 120 rooms, including exclusive suites, a top-tier restaurant, and unique communal areas. The main banking hall, inspired by the The Pantheon Iconic Rome Hotel, Autograph Collection in Rome, will be transformed into a live music bar—an ideal atmosphere for relaxation and socializing. Preserved executive offices, adorned with original, intricately carved furniture, will serve as work and relaxation spaces for hotel guests. A wellness area with a pool, saunas, and gym will be on the ground floor, and a three-level underground parking garage with around 200 spaces is planned on an adjacent city-owned plot. JW Marriott: An Icon of Ultra-Premium Hospitality JW Marriott, a brand that spans over 120 hotels worldwide with only 10 in Europe, embodies luxury as “an oasis where every detail matters, inviting guests to unwind body, mind, and spirit.” JW Marriott Krakow is more than just a hotel project—it’s a revitalization of the city’s history. Scheduled for completion next year, this venture will mark the launch of Poland’s first JW Marriott.
