Last week, we held a webinar all about ‘Biologics: What They Are, How They Work, and Who Might Benefit’. Rajan Merchant, MD, FACAAI joined us for an informative webinar and in case you missed it, here are 5 key takeaways: 1️⃣Biologics are medicines that target parts of the immune system that cause inflammation. This helps treat conditions like asthma, eczema, and food allergies more directly. 2️⃣Many allergic diseases, like asthma and eczema, are linked to "Type 2 inflammation," driven by specific molecules. Biologics help by reducing this type of inflammation, which can prevent flare-ups and improve symptoms. 3️⃣Biologics allow for more personalized care, targeting specific molecules linked to each patient’s condition. This makes treatments more effective than general therapies. 4️⃣Biologics are now approved for different allergic conditions, like asthma, eczema, nasal polyps, eosinophilic esophagitis, and food allergies. They help reduce symptoms and the need for other medications. 5️⃣Biologics improve life for patients by lowering symptoms, reducing flare-ups, and keeping people out of the hospital. We also have the full recording and transcript available for your viewing at our website! https://lnkd.in/ejPuNCMb Special thanks to Sanofi/Regeneron who has provided funding support to make this webinar possible.
