This year, you’ll see more oversight on spending. We see it. It doesn’t mean it slows down the deal process. It can if you don’t key in on the buying committee as soon as possible. That’s one of the biggest changes we’re seeing in the market. You need to map out who’s on the buying committee. Find your champion, the person signing the checks, and the end users. You’ll need buy-in from every single person. As soon as that’s established the deal will move faster. If it’s not established, then the deal will stall out. You don’t want that to happen. Take time to figure out the buying process and committee of your prospects. The sooner you do that, the faster the deal closes.

Stop trying to create urgency in your sales calls. Creating urgency is self-serving. It’s one-sided. Potential clients can feel that. It makes them withdraw from the deal process. Instead, match the urgency of your prospect. Matching the urgency is almost the same thing as creating urgency. The difference is that you’re now making the decision process a team effort. You’re not pushing, pulling, or forcing someone to buy. You’re guiding them along the buying process. That’s the difference. No one wants to be forced to do anything.
