Over the past few days, Hurricane Helene has ripped through five states, leaving many stranded, roads closed, and millions without power. In the Asheville, North Carolina, area, many still needed access to information as the mountain terrain was hit hard by washing out cities, homes, and roads. Allies in Energy has put together an Amazon Wish List of critical supplies for the region. All supplies will be donated and delivered to Hearts with Hands Disaster Relief in Asheville at their warehouse. Thank you for your support for those in need on the ground in North Carolina: https://lnkd.in/gRcFvHD6 Or you may donate financially to: https://lnkd.in/e57q2zzZ

Energy transition is one of the most complex challenges of our times and as the energy capital of the world, Houston has the incredible opportunity and responsibility to accelerate global solutions for a lower-carbon future. With global headquarters and a strong presence in Houston, Texas, we're contributing by offering technologies and solutions that are reducing emissions and advancing sustainability. We’re proud to support and contribute to the inaugural Houston Energy and Climate Week this week, with two panels hosted at our headquarters in Houston. The energy transition panel focused on our technologies and solutions that unlock the ability to transform, transfer, and transport energy efficiently, while capturing and cutting emissions, with several key leaders of our business sharing their perspectives. The sustainability fashion panel shed a light on the impact of fashion industry on climate crisis, and how each of us, as consumers, are empowered to make informed and ethical choices for a sustainable future. In line with our sustainability goals, we engaged with two small businesses in our community for this (MendIt®, Inc. and Magpies & Peacocks) and also held a fun clothes swap. Thank you the Houston community for joining us for these events and to our team who helped make it possible: Shawn Yates, Khyati Mehta, Marie Merle Caekebeke, Briana Lyssy, and Stephanie Grover, PMP. #HECW #HTXEnergyClimateWeek #EnergyTransition #WeAreBakerHughes

CEO, Energy Futurist, AI Nerd, Board Director, Builder in the Purpose Economy, Marathoner, Mom, Wife. I do hard things.
Seven years ago this week, the water finally receded from Hurricane Harvey, and my home dried out. That's when more hard work began: a chapter in my journey of self-discovery. ‘What is my purpose?’ Yesterday, that journey had a significant milestone: (you/we)…hundreds of citizens, leaders, investors, academics, and environmental advocates kicked off Houston Energy and Climate Week. Thanks to KHOU 11 for stopping by to participate and show the world what we’ve got! Houston is truly a city with no limits—our diversity is our superpower. We've sent men and women to the moon, addressed the pandemic, and continue to shape America's future. We have immense challenges ahead of us, but in Houston, WE DO HARD THINGS. And we do them faster and better when we work together. "Unity" is a part of "community". Thanks, Juliana, Lindsay Roe, and the entire board of volunteer corps with Allies in Energy Watch the story and hear Angela Blanchard and Ramanan Krishnamoorti insights.....and big thanks to our stellar lineup: Linda Lorelle, Jean Becker, Theo E.J. Wilson, Karl Pettersen, Pat Wood, III, Kelly Burks-Copes, Office of Commissioner Lesley Briones, Precinct 4, City of Houston Mayor's Office, Kyle Wiley, Darin Rice, Maxine Lunn, Stan Kitzman I do this work for for my daughter, Ally, who keeps me getting up daily with all of you to "GMSD" - Get Meaningful Stuff Done. Let's go, Tuesday, Houston! Keep showing them what we've got! https://lnkd.in/gFHtCP8v

Opening ceremony of the Inaugural Houston Energy and Climate Week. I love the connection between energy and climate because we can not solve the climate crisis without addressing the energy transition. The theme is ”We Do Hard Things” in honor of all the truly groundbreaking work that takes place in our city across so many industries—energy, space, medicine, shipping, the arts... #HoustonProud.
