🚀 Registration is officially open for DC Climate Week! 🤸🏽♀️ Each day of DCCW will focus on one of five themes, with free, ticketed headline events at a metro-accessible hub venue. Here's how registration works. Our hub venues have limited seating, so tickets will be given through a lottery system. After you register, you’ll be entered into a randomized lottery and notified of your ticket status by April 7. We look forward to making meaningful in-person connections and engaging in intimate conversations each day during DC Climate Week. We believe this approach is the most effective way to fulfill our commitment to providing attendees with an accessible and free experience. What are you waiting for? Register link in comments 👇🏻

Is Climate Week NYC happening this year? Yes. Is it moving to Toronto? No. Will it be smaller this year? No. How many events were there last year? Nearly 1000. How many events will there be this year? Over 1000. Will you be moving the dates? No. Sept 21-28 alongside UNGA. Will the name change to New York Climate Week, like Fasion Week? No. This is our name and we love it. Will you be bringing politicians together from across the political divide? Yes. As we have done for nearly 20 years. Are corporates going to bring substantive things to the table or are they shying away. Those we work with are all in. Can I come? Yes. The calendar goes live in the Spring. What’s the strapline this year? ##### ## What does that mean? It means you have to wait. Spread the word :-) If you’re coming, engaging, hosting or just supporting, message below to say what you’re up to so everything else can join in on the fun. #ClimateWeekNYC

Had a blast at Design Day for Houston Energy and Climate Week! We explored big ideas to make the weeklong event even more impactful, fun, and engaging - our top (maybe slightly unrealistic) contribution? Land a #Beyoncé performance! 💃 The group activity asked us to team up and design boxes where each side listed out our thoughts on the below: - Why does "Energy" matter to you? - What skills can you bring to Houston Energy & Climate Week? - What big questions do you have about Energy or Climate? - What activities would you like to see during the week? - What wish do you have for the week? "What if..." Thanks to the sponsors & hosts, ALLY Energy, EDP Renewables, and a special shout out to Ingrid Velasco, Lindsay Roe and everyone who made this event possible!

I had a great time facilitating the second annual Houston Energy and Climate Week Design Day, hosted by EDP Renewables North America, last Thursday! Nearly 100 participants joined to connect, brainstorm, and shape the future of HECW 2025. It was inspiring to see so many passionate individuals come together, share fresh ideas, and collaborate on impactful solutions. I’m grateful to have played a role in guiding these conversations and walking away feeling energized by the enthusiasm and creativity in the room. A huge thank you to our volunteers, participants, and the organizers for making this event such a success! And to Ingrid Velasco for inviting me to facilitate the conversation and Peter Durand's Alphachimp, LLC for supplying the materials and inspiring the format!

Congratulations to our co-chair for 2024 Houston Energy and Climate Week — Juliana Garaizar for her three nominations. She took home the Investor of the Year award at the Houston Innovation Awards hosted by InnovationMap last week. Juliana invested and double downed on Houston four years ago to establish Greentown Labs Houston — then launched Energy Tech Nexus while supporting startups and helping our city launch the first ever Houston Energy and Climate Week. Congratulations Juliana for all you do for HOU.

🌲Sustainable Design for Houston Energy and Climate Week🌲 As part of Houston Energy and Climate Week by Design Thinking and Innovation, the focus was on designing for a #sustainable future, a topic that felt not only relevant but essential in today’s world. Attending this event was an inspiring and enlightening #experience, blending the urgency of climate action with the power of thoughtful design. Special recognition goes out to the leaders who made this collaboration possible, including Danyal Mahmud, Margaret Passe, Pragya Srivastava, Zachary Reyna, and Quinn Uyen Dao. Your commitment to driving sustainable #change was clear throughout the evening. 🌟⭐️What stood out most were the engaging presentations that connected human-centered design with sustainability. The idea that we need to shift from “Human-Centric” to “Planet-Centric” thinking resonated deeply, emphasizing that our design approaches must prioritize both #people and the #planet equally⭐️🌟 It was great to see the collaboration between Design Thinking and Innovation and local organizations like Side Project Society, IxDA Houston, UXPA International Houston, UXCoogs, and more come to life, showcasing the strength and innovation our community can bring when we unite around a common cause. I also want to acknowledge the tireless efforts of the coordinators—Denny Kruep, Cristelle Mathews, Kanika Sachdeva, Melissa Yarbrough, and KP Stone. Your work behind the scenes ensured that the event ran smoothly, fostering a space where ideas could be shared #freely. The event space at Improving was perfect for fostering a collaborative and engaging atmosphere, and I truly appreciate their generosity as a sponsor. Their support, along with Aquent underscored the importance of community involvement in making events like this a #reality. This event was a vivid reminder that #sustainability starts with thoughtful design, and I left feeling both challenged and motivated to incorporate more of these principles into my own work. It’s clear that events like this are not only beneficial but necessary for our community to push the boundaries of what’s possible in creating a sustainable future🤎
