A brand reaches out and offers you a paid partnership, but.... You realize it’s a pay-per-view model. Creators: You should NOT be getting paid for JUST the performance of your content. You should be getting paid for your time, experience, access to your audience, name, image, likeness, and more. Don’t let a brand sell short everything you do as a creator!

If you’re negotiating with a brand and they say they don’t have the budget for something, ask what they DO have the budget for. Then create a package for them around THAT budget. Offer them a set of deliverables that makes sense for what they’re willing to invest. Stop giving up when a brand tells you they don’t have the budget for something. Keep negotiating!

One easy way you can LOSE brand partnership opportunities is by not responding quickly to the brands and agencies reaching out to you. Our rule of thumb is responding to brands within 24 hours. Taking too long to respond to them could lead to that opportunity being given to someone else who was more timely in their answer.
