Did you know, about one out of every five people in the United States has a disability. The Commonwealth of Virginia and the Virginia Department of Education actively celebrate Disability History and Awareness Month. Their main goal is to encourage respect, understanding, and equal opportunities in schools. This month is a great opportunity to learn about the lives and experiences of people with disabilities and to better understand how to be a better ally.
