Are you ready to vote in the upcoming #2024Election? For voters with disabilities, there are several federal laws protecting access to voting, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), as well as the Help America Vote Act (HAVA). According to these regulations, polling places must have: - Wheelchair-accessible voting booths - Entrances and doorways at least 32 inches wide - Handrails on all stairs - Voting equipment for people who are blind or visually impaired Some states have additional accommodations, such as expanded mail-in voting, electronic ballots, curbside voting, transportation to the polls, and more, to help those with disabilities ensure they can cast their ballot. You can learn what accommodations are available to you by contacting your state and local election offices at https://lnkd.in/ghJYDYew #Accessibility #AccessibleVoting #Election #Election24

This week is #ClutterAwarenessWeek, meant to draw attention to the often-overlooked mental and physical tolls excessive clutter can have on individuals. In addition to what's listed here, clutter can often cause social isolation, as people become embarrassed to welcome guests into their home, increasing risk of further mental health concerns such as anxiety and depression. Some tips to help de-clutter your spaces include: Starting small, like with a single drawer or shelf. Setting a timer, and do whatever you can accomplish in 10, 15, or 20 minutes. Trying to sort items into several boxes or baskets. Getting rid of items that do not spark joy or serve a purpose. You can find Amramp's Home Safety Checklist, which includes other tips on keeping your home accessible at https://lnkd.in/e_9ihgam #Clutter #Clean #Accessibility #Cleaning #HomeSafety

For #SocialWellnessMonth, we'd like to remind everyone about the importance of having a healthy social life. Having positive social connections has been linked to increased health benefits, including reduced stress, improved ability to fight off illnesses, and even living a longer life. #Accessibility is a crucial aspect of social wellness, and ensuring everyone has the proper access not only to enter and exit their home safely, but access to community spaces, events, and activities as well. This access is just as important for people with disabilities as it is to caregivers, who often experience elevated stress levels, and can sometimes push their own needs aside in favor of caring for their loved ones. It's important to remember to care for yourself while caring for other. #HappyAnniversary to the #ADA! This landmark legislation was signed into law on July 26, 1990 by President George H.W. Bush to protect people of all ages who have a mental or physical disability from discrimination by the government, schools, employers, and anyone who offers goods and services to the public. The anniversary in July also signifies Disability Pride Month, honoring the history, achievements, experiences, and struggles of the disability community. This year, we'd like to take a page out of Tina Guenette & RAMP's book, and remind everyone to "Be the IDEA - Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility." Last year, Amramp manufacturing won the MMAP (MA Manufacturers Accelerate Program) grant to help fund the purchase of a robotic welding system. It’s funded by the state of Massachusetts in an effort to retain and create skilled manufacturing jobs. Amramp was one of 11 winners of the grant out of 60+ applicants, and stood out among others for its mission to help people find their forward, as well as the growth potential of the accessibility market, and the professionalism demonstrated by the manufacturing team during the facility tour with the grantor. The robotic welding system will be the latest addition of automation that allows us to increase our production capacity as we continue to grow. At the same time, it will improve the accuracy and consistency of our welded sections and platforms, and provide new learning opportunities for our manufacturing staff. The grant will fund approximately 45% of the procurement and startup costs of the robot. We aim to have the robotic welder up and running by late summer, and are excited for its integration at Amramp going forward! #amramp #accessibility #FindYourForward
