Our team recently had the honor of welcoming U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito to the Amsted Graphite Materials manufacturing facility in Anmoore, West Virginia. As the only U.S.-owned and operated manufacturer of graphite for nuclear reactor use, we had the opportunity to showcase our critical role in advancing the nuclear energy sector. Along with a tour of the facility, we had an insightful conversation with Senator Capito about our mutual commitment to this important industry and the impact of the bipartisan ADVANCED Act. Thank you, Senator Capito, for your leadership and support of West Virginia’s contribution to our nation’s energy and defense sectors. #amstedgraphitematerials #graphitematerials #ussenator #senatorcapito #westvirginia

We are thrilled to announce the purchase and upcoming installation of two state-of-the-art, high-temperature bake furnaces from Riedhammer. Not only do these furnaces enhance our baking capabilities and expand our capacity, but they also feature heat recouping technology, aligning with our commitment to green and sustainable practices. Made possible by a recent $8 million grant awarded to Amsted Graphite Materials from the U.S. Department of Defense, these modern additions further solidify our commitment to supporting U.S. national defense and advanced technological development. #amstedgraphitematerials #amstedgraphite #graphitemanufacturing #graphite #graphitematerials

Great visit to Amsted Graphite from the team at EPRI (Electric Power Research) and Dominion Engineering.
Did you know that Graphite is one of the most important materials for advanced nuclear reactors? It slows neutrons so they can cause fission, bounces them back into the core to maximize their use, and even contains the fuel itself for some. I got to tour the Amsted Graphite Materials facility last week with Chris Wax from EPRI and Chuck Marks and Nathaniel Craft from Dominion Engineering, Inc. We learned a lot, and have so many ideas to mull over on how we can all improve industries' access to this critical material. Pictured below is an enormous piece of graphite, with me for scale.
