Title: Predicting Crop Yield with AI: A Random Forest Approach Curious about how AI can transform agriculture? In this video, I explain a #Random_Forest #model I built, which can help #farmers #predict crop yields using key factors like average #rainfall, #temperature, #fertilizer application and other features. With an impressive #R² of 0.899, this model performs well not only on #test data but also on new, unseen #data, making it highly adaptable to real-world farming scenarios. Watch the video for a hands-on demonstration using Python programming , run through the Anaconda, Inc. distribution in a Project Jupyter Notebook environment, and see how this model delivers #accurate predictions to improve farming decisions and boost yields. Check out this insightful post from Anaconda, Inc.'s Owen Price on why you might want to use Python in Excel over VBA. Have you experimented with Python in Excel yet? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
💡In VBA we can easily call the Regress method from the Analysis Toolpak to (very) quickly run ordinary least-squares regression in Excel. It's really fast and pretty comprehensive. You can see just how simple the code is in the first image, along with some of the standard output (I'll cover the charts in another post and video). In the second image, I've replicated the same output using Python in Excel. It's not difficult - all of the statistics are accessed via the statsmodels OLS fit method. The reason the code gets a bit longer is to format all of the output parameters in the same way as the Analysis Toolpak. But of course, the default format from the Analysis Toolpak might not be what you want, so take that with a pinch of salt. One reason you might choose Python in Excel over VBA in this case is if you want to pick and choose specific statistics as part of a larger workflow. Anyway, I'm going to create a video this weekend to go through how I created the class to replicate this Analysis Toolpak behavior. Hop on over to my YT channel to subscribe if you'd like to see that when it's published. Needless to say, this is just scratching the surface of the statsmodels package in Python.
