About us
ANEW improves people's lives by providing quality training, employment navigation and supportive services leading to successful family wage careers. ANEW was founded in 1980 by women dedicated to improving access and advancement for women in non-traditional career pathways. It is among the oldest pre-apprenticeship programs serving women in the nation. Since its inception, ANEW has run 100+ cohorts and trained thousands of students. Many graduates enter apprentice-able occupations within the building trades. In fact, some of Washington State's female leaders in policy-making, training coordination and labor advocacy began their careers as ANEW students and staff. We vision a thriving community where there is equal access to family wage, apprentice-able career pathways that result in a diverse, skilled workforce.

It’s an honor for us at ANEW to host partner companies events, especially those highlighting Construction Inclusion week and participating in the shift of culture for the construction industry.
Recently, the MCAWW DEIB Committee hosted the Cultivating Belonging panel event at ANEW during Construction Inclusion Week. This event was a fantastic opportunity to learn more about ANEW and their incredible initiatives, including the RISE Up program, which is dedicated to fostering respectful workplaces in our industry. A heartfelt thank you to Megan Pearson and the ANEW team for their planning and collaboration of such an impactful event. A special thank you to our amazing panelists - Anthony Rogers, Soph Davenberry, and Kristina Herzman. Their openness, insights, and vulnerability left a profound impact on all of us who attended. Our community is stronger because of your contributions. Creating an industry-wide culture of belonging is essential as we strive to build an environment that welcomes everyone. While Construction Inclusion Week has concluded, our commitment to fostering a culture of belonging continues.

Donations to Rosie's closet are made up of lightly used construction related clothing only including items like jeans, coveralls, long shirts, vests, jackets and more. 🔗Come visit Rosie's Closet at the ANEW Training Facility in Tukwila or find out more info on our website: https://lnkd.in/gPsrDAjB
