We, at Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Nevada, are proud to announce our support towards the 12th annual School Supply Drive, presented by Communities In Schools of Northern Nevada. For the first time this event was held in rural Winnemucca and Elko and was a huge success. By providing the essential tools they need, we're helping to minimize the financial burden of families on purchasing the necessary school supplies and clothing. We believe that everyone should have an equal chance at education, and this partnership is a testament to this philosophy. We gratefully thank all those who joined us in this initiative and look forward to continuing our impact in the many years to come.

Everyone deserves access to quality care. This is essential for reducing health disparities and improving health outcomes in our communities. But we know that navigating healthcare can be tough, and barriers like mobility issues, lack of transportation, and costs can make it even harder. That’s why Anthem has partnered with Remote Area Medical - RAM® to bring care directly to our Cincinnati neighbors by hosting a health and wellness fair at St. Xavier High School over the weekend. Attendees received free, dental, vision, and medical care and screenings, and also connected with the many social service organizations and health providers onsite who provided information about local programs, services, and resources. It was an incredible weekend where attendees left healthier, more empowered, and connected to community resources and support. Thanks to everyone who came out and made this event a huge success! Everyone deserves access to quality care, support, and resources without barriers or judgment. With Anthem’s support, the Kentucky Harm Reduction Coalition's Health and Wellness Lounge is making this a reality. Located in downtown Louisville, the Lounge provides vital assistance to those facing housing and food insecurity, substance use disorders, and more, all in a comfortable, welcoming, stigma-free space. In the short time it's opening, the Lounge has already made a big impact in the community. We’re proud to be a part of such a meaningful initiative that embodies our mission to improve health outcomes and reduce health disparities. Starting this fall, Ohio Medicaid will cover doula services, supporting expectant mothers statewide. This expansion is a major step in enhancing maternal and infant health, reducing disparities, and making care more accessible and affordable to everyone. Doulas play a critical role throughout the pregnancy, labor, and postpartum journey, empowering families and ensuring every mother receives the comprehensive, compassionate care she deserves. Anthem’s Jenny Scott, Director of Care Coordination, recently spoke with WFMJ about the importance of doula services and how Ohioans can access them. On July 13, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Nevada proudly partnered with the Family Hope Project for the Biggest Little Summer Bash in Reno. This free community event featured free car seat inspections by REMSA Health, diaper distribution by Baby’s Bounty, and free vaccines from the Community Health Alliance. We also hosted a food distribution with the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. It was a great fusion of food, fun, and community at the Anthem Community Wellness Center. Everyone deserves quality health care, no matter where they live. Yet, for many rural and underserved communities across Kentucky, access to care remains a significant challenge. These communities often face a severe shortage of healthcare providers. To address these disparities, we launched the Anthem Rural Medicine Scholarship program in 2021. These scholarships are a lifeline, providing much-needed financial assistance for students committed to practicing in underserved areas.
