The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) launched the #DARPAConnect initiative to broaden DARPA’s reach with small businesses and educational institutions. DARPAConnect breaks down barriers of entry for performers new to DARPA through national and local events, networking opportunities, and a robust online curriculum. Since its inception, DARPAConnect has held a series of regional pop-up events, workshops, and coaching sessions to support new potential performers as they become acclimated to the DARPA enterprise. DARPA, in collaboration with the ARI (Applied Research Institute) the University at Albany and NY CREATES is hosting a DARPAConnect Regional Pop-Up event. This one-day event offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into DARPA through engaging sessions led by DARPA office leadership, program managers and staff. Note that networking opportunities with DARPA leaders and program managers will be exclusively available to in-person attendees, and space is limited. Here’s a recap of Day 2 at #MDIS24. From informative panels to inspiring speakers – it was another successful day of the summit. We had the honor of hearing from our lunch keynote Josh Bleill which served as a reminder of why we do what we do – to support the Warfighter. What we do matters! The drive to push innovation to solutions matters! We were honored to have an incredible line up of speakers both days and overwhelmed by the support that led to a sold out event. On behalf of ARI, thank you to everyone who attended the revamp of the Midwest Defense Innovation Summit, to our speakers, and to our sponsors who helped make this event possible. Stay tuned because we are already looking forward to #MDIS2025!

Krach Institute CEO Michelle Giuda had the honor of emceeing Day One of the Midwest Defense Innovation Summit, powered by our strategic partner, ARI (Applied Research Institute). Michelle also discussed the Midwest’s central role at the intersection of defense innovation and tech diplomacy with Indiana Sen. Todd Young, a true visionary in the tech-national security space. Sen. Young spoke about the importance of educating diplomats on critical and emerging technologies that impact national security. The Krach Institute’s Tech Diplomacy Academy is at the forefront of that mission and has already been adopted by the U.S. Department of State. #MDIS2024
