ArcBest's annual Family Day and 5K was last weekend at our Fort Smith headquarters! Employees and their families were able to exercise our wellness value by participating in a 5K Run/Walk followed by food served by our leadership, games, face painting, a petting zoo, health fair and more. As a proud pacesetter, ArcBest was able to donate proceeds from the 5K registrations, company merchandise sales, and donations to the UNITED WAY OF FORT SMITH AREA INC. Our people truly are the heart of our success, and our community.

We’re excited to share some fantastic news about our very own Jefferson Maldonado! Jefferson, who leads our robotics and automation team at ArcBest Technologies, has just been recognized at Sjoven’s 2024 Jarabacoa Outstanding Young Recognition Gala in the Vision and Innovation of the Future category. This prestigious event, now in its 15th year, celebrates young Dominicans making waves in their fields. Jefferson’s story is inspiring. Native to Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic, Jefferson moved to the U.S. in 2002 during middle school and later attended high school in New York where he joined his first robotics club. Then in 2008, Jefferson joined the Navy and worked with catapult and arresting gear on the USS George H. W. Bush aircraft carrier. Following his service, he attended Vaugh College of Aeronautics and Technology where he also joined the robotics club, eventually serving as president and leading his team to victory at the 2016 VEX Robotics World Championship Competition. As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, we couldn’t be prouder to highlight Jefferson’s achievements. Recognized by SJoven for his visionary work, Jefferson exemplifies the innovative spirit at ArcBest. His work on revolutionary technology like Vaux Smart Autonomy is truly transformational. Jefferson’s remarkable journey and leadership are great examples of how unique experiences and fresh perspectives ignite creativity and innovation. Learn more about the leading-edge technology Jefferson and team are creating at ArcBest by visiting arcb.com/technology/vaux. Congratulations, Jefferson!
