🚨 New PPE Rule Alert! 🚨 Effective October 1, 2024, the Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) has adopted a permanent rule allowing the voluntary use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in certain situations. The rule, outlined in WAC 296-155-249, WAC 296-307-10030, and WAC 296-800-16080, permits workers to wear PPE to protect themselves from noise, dust, or infectious/contagious diseases when they feel the need. This means even when there is no known hazard requiring PPE, employees have the choice to wear it. Key points to note: • PPE must not introduce hazards to the work environment. • PPE must not interfere with the employer's security requirements. • The voluntary use must comply with DOSH standards. Employers are encouraged to review and update their PPE policies and Job Hazard Analyses. Archbright members have access to several resources to help them start this task. Let's prioritize safety and stay compliant! #WorkplaceSafety #PPE #DOSH #SafetyFirst

The National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) governs private-sector unionized and non-unionized workplaces. In this webinar, attorney Ben Eckhart provides employers with an overview of the NLRA and recent decisions by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and General Counsel guidance memos. This discussion covers employee concerted activities, wearing union logos at work, handbook policies, investigation confidentiality, organizing rules, make whole remedies, and worker classification. These changes demonstrate increasing NLRB scrutiny and enforcement over non-union employers and their interactions with employees. There will be an opportunity for Q&A at the end of the presentation, so bring your questions! Register today! https://hubs.ly/Q02P0-jn0
