When we built Argyle, we asked "What does BIM and AR need to be to be useful for the site?" It needed to be supremely easy and verifiably accurate. How do you set up an AR experience for construction? We call it #alignment in Argyle. After roughly placing yourself in hologram space, Argyle lets you anchor anywhere in the BIM hologram and attach it to the real world. I wanted a site-based solution for alignment that didn't require much pre-planning. Anywhere alignment lets you start anywhere and use what you have available whether it's--grids, columns, a stake in the ground--whatever you have on-site will be enough to get visualizing. Electrical Prefabrication with Argyle. We got these videos from the great team at Miller Electric Company. This use of AR is such a no brainer, but it flew right over my head until I saw it in action. TIP: Argyle assumes your model export is an upright building, so when you're exporting prefab models in the Revit plugin, make sure you orient the model appropriately. TIP: Use the prefab use case to resurrect your dusty Hololens 2. It ticks the boxes of its limitations: smaller model sizes, and indoor visibility. Then when you want to install the conduit and walk the full site--give your team a Magic Leap 2. #revitmep #fabshop #augmentedreality
