About us

With roots reaching back more than 70 years into the history of space activity in Europe, ArianeGroup embodies Franco–German technological space program heritage. What connects space and climate change? And how do we raise awareness among kids and teenagers? 🌍🚀🛰️ During #WorldSpaceWeek, our dedicated ambassadors – the #Arionauts – in France and Germany venture into classrooms to spark curiosity about space and the science behind rockets in young minds. They aim to inform and educate about the crucial role of space technology in monitoring environmental changes and developing strategies to mitigate climate change effects. For the Arionauts, these visits are also a highlight. “It's a real opportunity to lift our heads off the handlebars and share our passion with children. Seeing their eyes light up reminds us that what we do is meaningful and out of the ordinary,” says Thibault, an Arionaut from our Saint-Médard-en-Jalles Issac site. Our initiative began in 2020 with 180 Arionauts reaching out to 7,800 students from kindergartens to high schools, igniting their enthusiasm and for #SpaceExploration. By 2023, these numbers had grown to 234 Arionauts contacting 11,572 students across 259 classes. These efforts do more than educate; they inspire the next generation to dream big and consider careers in the #SpaceIndustry. We are immensely proud of our ambassadors’ dedication to deepening the understanding of space technology and its vital applications. Their efforts embody our core mission: to expand the frontiers of space, making it accessible and beneficial to everyone on Earth. Stay tuned for more testimonies from our Arionauts and join us in celebrating this important global event of the #Space community, organised by the World Space Week Association. #WSW24 #RocketMakers #ChoosePassion #WorldSpaceWeek2024 #SpaceAndClimateChange

On Wednesday 2 October, #ArianeGroup had the honour of hosting a distinguished group of French and German public officials and academics from prominent thinktanks FRS | Fondation pour la Recherche Stratégique and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung for an afternoon of fruitful discussions and demonstrations at our Les Mureaux site in France. Exchanges focused on ballistic missile defence, hypersonic glide vehicle technology and space domain awareness, all space-related issues of crucial strategic importance for #Europe and all at the heart of ArianeGroup’s technological portfolio. This visit highlighted the importance of sustained dialogue between #France and #Germany in order to not only foster a common understanding of geostrategic challenges, but also develop effective joint solutions drawing on the potent legacy of industrial cooperation between the two countries that ArianeGroup fully embodies today. The day ended with a tour of the #Ariane6 rocket main stage assembly hall, giving our guests an up-close direct look at the industrial reality behind the objective of guaranteeing European autonomous access to space. A big thank-you to all participants for making the day so interesting and successful. Particular acknowledgement is due to Annabelle Livet, Research Fellow at the FRS and the event’s principal organiser; thanks too to ArianeGroup main hosts Francois Raffenne, Head of EU & NATO Public Affairs, and Jens Schroeter, Head of Public Affairs Germany. #RocketMakers #SpaceIndustry #Defence #Innovation #Sovereignty
