About us

For more than 50 years, ArtsFund has strengthened the community by raising funds from individuals and businesses to support the region’s nonprofit arts sector through grants and other organizational assistance. Through its allocations process, ArtsFund has distributed more than $100 million in grants to a broad range of more than 100 arts groups in a wide variety of disciplines and scales throughout Washington State. ArtsFund's grants provide general operating support--typically the most difficult funding for the groups to find, and arguably the most critical. As the central voice for the arts in the region, ArtsFund provides capacity-building programs, conducts important research and advocates on behalf of the sector.

On Tuesday, September 24th, more than 600 arts patrons and community members gathered for Celebration of the Arts at McCaw Hall. Attendees warmly gathered and connected in our dynamic pre-event networking receptions, filling the space with conversation and connection around the sector we champion. The event was rich in performances and art presentations by our grantees and cultural partners, including painter Jesse Higman and violin performance from multi-instrumentalist Benjamin Hunter in our receptions. Onstage, led by host Claudine Mboligikpelani Nako, we featured performances from North Seattle Mariachi, Northwest Tap Connection, Sound Theatre, a solo performance of Jessica Lang's The Calling by Pacific Northwest Ballet dancer, Zsilas Michael Hughes, Tacoma Refugee Choir, and a video showcase curated by Tasveer. We were thrilled to welcome Keynote Speaker Jim LeBrecht, a leader in access to join in conversation with Michael around accessibility justice and how art can be the impetus for social change. ArtsFund cannot thank our supporters, partners, staff and volunteers enough for making this event possible. If you were unable to convene with us and would like to support ArtsFund in lieu, we invite you to visit https://lnkd.in/gepkPK8B and consider making a donation. Photo Credits: Alan Alabastro
