At the Envision India Conference 2024, hosted by Asia Society Northern California, we engaged in thought-provoking discussions centered around India’s pivotal role in global dynamics. As part of the Tech & AI Investments panel, we (Madhu Shalini Iyer, Sumir Chadha, Andy Tsao, and myself) delved into AI’s impact on India’s investment landscape. We emphasized the critical need for cybersecurity and innovative leadership in the tech sector. Key Highlights: Ambassador Eric Garcetti delivered a compelling keynote address, touching upon U.S.-India diplomatic ties, India’s recent elections, and future AI standards. Consul General K. Srikar Reddy underscored India’s remarkable growth trajectory and long-term goals. By 2047, India aims to become the world’s third-largest economy. The event’s standout moment was an intimate small-group dinner with U.S. Ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti. A pleasure to be back in the Bay Area, this time for the Asia Society's Envision India Conference on “The Emerging U.S. and India Partnership". I touched on the growing synergy between Washington and New Delhi in areas of defense, critical and emerging technology, building a clean energy, economy, supply chain resiliency as companies work on a China plus one strategy, healthcare, and education. The U.S. and India, together with the Quad partners in Australia and Japan remain focused on securing a free and open Indo-Pacific. Delighted to meet Ambassador Eric Garcetti and share the stage with Arzan Tarapore at Stanford University and Asha Jadeja at the Motwani Jadeja Foundation.
