    We’re proud to announce we’ve received a one-year subaward to support research on tickborne diseases, specifically focusing on the Babesia parasite. Funded by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), this project is led by principal investigator (PI) Choukri Ben Mamoun, PhD, professor of Medicine (Infectious Diseases) and of Microbial Pathogenesis at Yale School of Medicine, and co-PI, Robert Molestina, PhD, lead scientist at ATCC.     We are excited to announce that ATCC has received a grant from the Office of Research Infrastructure Programs, part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), to support the building of our new #biomanufacturing suite at our Manassas, Virginia headquarters. The facility will be designed to rapidly respond to infectious disease outbreaks by providing high-throughput manufacturing for reproducible, high-quality virus stocks and reagents to the NIH. The biomedical scientific community will broadly use these materials to accelerate and evaluate vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics for #PublicHealth, including those of epidemic or pandemic potential. 💉🧪 As one of the few non-academic institutions to receive this grant, we’re committed to advancing public health initiatives and bolstering biomedical research infrastructure.
