Measuring #CellProliferation is crucial across research fields, from basic science to #Therapeutics. In a recent Biocompare article, Fang Tian, PhD, Director of Biological Content at ATCC, discusses how ATCC leverages its cell proliferation knowledge to create human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT)–immortalized primary cells. “With this unique program we keep primary cells proliferating so they continue to be physiologically relevant, and give the user more reproducibility,” she says. Earlier today, we broke ground on a new #biomanufacturing suite at our headquarters in Manassas, Virginia. The facility, funded in part by a Commonwealth's Development Opportunity Fund grant from the Virginia Economic Development Partnership, will provide a US-based manufacturing source of important biological standards and reagents for #GlobalHealth issues. “As we continue to play a critical role in the federal government’s pandemic preparedness and readiness, this facility will allow us to scale production of biomaterials quickly and because of its location, distribute them both nationally and globally during a health crisis,” said ATCC chairman and CEO Raymond Cypess. Thank you, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, for joining us to celebrate the groundbreaking. We are proud to continue strengthening our roots in the county with Prince William Economic Development and Tourism and to be a top-rated life science employer in the region with employees who have a common goal to advance and apply scientific discovery.
