Last weekend I had the opportunity to celebrate two of my employees graduate from the Registered Apprenticeship Program at the Atlanta/Georgia Chapters, Independent Electrical Contractors! It's truly been a privilege to watch Luis and Nick grow over the past four years. They both sacrificed a lot of their time and energy to go to class each year for 144 hours and work at least 2,000 in the field. They are both capable and competent electricians and I am excited to see how much more they will grow in the future! IEC was honored to have Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr as our keynote speaker. He gave a fantastic speech and we are very grateful for his support of the construction skilled trades! The Registered Apprenticeship Program at the IEC is a great example of a pathway to a financially successful career without having to attend college and incur student loan debt. Our graduates are experienced and could sit for the Georgia Electrical Contractor's Licensing Exam. After passage, they could start their own business, and the sky is truly the limit from there! Congratulations to Luis and Nick -- I am so proud of you both I almost cried!
