Last week IAGOS celebrated 30 years of providing open access data on water vapour and ozone in the atmosphere to the global scientific community. Thanks to everyone for accompanying us on this journey.

From September 9th to 13th, 2024, I attended the International Summer School on "High Mountain Ecosystems: Soil Survey and GIS-based Mapping." During this event, I had the unique opportunity to visit the Italian Climate Observatory "Ottavio Vittori", located at Monte Cimone. Here, I gained valuable insights into the use of various instruments for measuring CO₂, CH₄, N₂O, and NOx, as well as the importance of these measurements for understanding climate and environmental conditions. Additionally, I participated in practical learning sessions that covered topics such as soil sampling protocols under the Sentinel Project, surveying pedodiversity, studying the microflora and microfauna present in soils, analyzing soil variables and covariates, and deepening my understanding of GIS tools. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the faculty from the University of Bologna Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences - University of Bologna, ATMO-ACCESS for providing me with this invaluable learning experience.
