ARMA hosted a Cybersecurity Operations Summit last week focusing specifically on manufacturing and topics not normally included in cybersecurity discussions. Thank you, Julie Lessiter, Amy Wong, and Texas State University #Round Rock for hosting us and opening up your beautiful campus! The summit started with a presentation by Michael Phillips at CFC discussing underwriting trends in cyber insurance. Next, Gregg Sofer from Husch Blackwell covered the legal aspects of responding to a cyber incident. Timothy Lawless from CyManII | Cybersecurity Manufacturing Innovation Institute covered real-life examples of how cybercriminals are attacking small manufacturers, and why. Kia M. Smith, MPP, CISA, CCFSP,PMP, and David Carter from RSM brought attention to the new #CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) rules that were finalized this month, and how they can impact manufacturers in the supply chain who may not realize the how these rules apply to them due to the flow down requirements. Bryan Fuller from Contigo IT closed out the day with how to plan and take actionable steps to protect your business and comply with new rules and regulations. If you were not able to attend, but have questions about any of these topics, please do not hesitate to reach out to ARMA or any of the speakers. We wish to thank our sponsors for this event: Bryan Fuller and Contigo IT, Event Sponsor Devin Stewart, INSURICA, Breakfast Sponsor Scott Haigler, RSM, Lunch Sponsor Gregg Sofer, Husch Blackwell, Content Sponsor #cybersecurity #manufacturingcybersecurity #CMMC #cyberinsurance

ARMA supports the proposed police contract and agrees with the opinion stated by Edward Latson of Opportunity Austin and Dewitt Peart of the Downtown Austin Alliance in this op-ed published today in the Austin American-Statesman. The Austin Police Department is at a pivotal moment. After a long period of good-faith negotiations, the City of Austin Council is voting tomorrow on a tentative 5-year policy contract that will address the over 300 officer vacancies, slower response times, and concerns about safety for Austin's citizens and visitors. The policy contract is a major step forward in improving the quality of life in Austin, ensuring the city's future, and addressing office morale which will help fill vacancies. It also implements the Austin Police Oversight Act to enhance accountability, striking a balance by improving public safety and transparency, while fulfilling the need for stability at APD and voters' demands. Read the full op-ed here: https://lnkd.in/gkEWK-Vw #Advocacy #PublicSafety #AustinCityCouncil #APD #KeepAustinSafe
Opinion: Why the proposed police contract is crucial for Austin's future Austin is at a crossroads. With over 300 officer vacancies, slower response times, and concerns about safety growing, the solution is long overdue. Read why we believe the upcoming police contract vote is the most important step toward ensuring a safer Austin for all. Full op-ed: https://lnkd.in/gkEWK-Vw
