Members of AvalonBay's Black Associate Coalition (BAC) recently participated in a walk to raise awareness for Sickle Cell Disease in Washington, D.C. The event, hosted by Howard University's Center For Sickle Cell Disease, aimed to raise funds and improve the public’s understanding to support the fight against this condition, which represents the most common genetic blood disease in the United States.  Thank you to this team for personifying our Spirt of Caring core value.

In continuation of our celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re spotlighting members of our Latinx Associate Resource Group, LEAD. JONATHAN ROBLES, Community Manager at Avalon Redmond Campus in Washington, reflects on his career journey and the personal motivations that fuel his passion for his work: “What I like most about being a Community Manager is the constant challenge and daily problem-solving opportunities it brings. I enjoy tackling new obstacles and finding creative solutions to keep things running smoothly. This past September 11th, over 70 AvalonBay associates came together to support the New Jersey Community Development Corporation (NJCDC) in a day of service. In partnership with the AmeriCorps program, NJCDC holds this annual event to honor the significance of 9/11, reflect on the lives lost, and pay tribute through community revitalization efforts.
