PRSSA ICON 2024 RECAP! ✍🏻 Here are the highlights of my trip to Anaheim, California, which I was humbly able to attend due to the generosity of the UT College of Communication & Information and the Tombras School of Advertising & Public Relations. • Receiving the Axia Public Relations Scholarship which is immensely helpful towards my journey to higher education and career development opportunities, like ICON! Thank you very much to Jason Mudd for this honor! • Hearing from representatives from places like Nebo Agency was very insightful and provided me with key information as I pursue my dreams of working at a PR agency post-grad. • Meeting with the newly established PRSSA National Chapter Development Committee! I was able to share the missions and plans of this AMAZING committee with students. Shoutout to Olivia McCurdy for selecting me to serve with you and being such an uplifting leader! • Listening to leaders like Jane Dvorak, APR, Fellow PRSA, Colin Wylie, and Philip Tate, APR, Fellow PRSA (to name a few) shine a light on the importance of thoughtful mentorship, asking questions, self-reflection and staying positive! • Exploring Anaheim which means a quick trip to Disneyland Resort and In-N-Out Burger! Overall, ICON was (again) a very enlightening experience meeting with professionals and peers across the globe. I am excited for what is to come!
