Our portfolio company, Charm Industrial, was recently featured on Heatmap News for its partnership with the USDA Forest Service on a groundbreaking pilot in Inyo National Forest! 🌳✨ Charm is transforming forest-thinning biomass into bio-oil, tackling wildfire risk while permanently removing CO2 from the atmosphere. 🌲🌎 Supported by a Cal Fire grant, the project utilizes Charm’s advanced pyrolysis technology to convert waste wood into a carbon sink, with big plans to scale up. This exciting initiative shows the potential to make a huge impact on wildfire risk reduction and climate change mitigation. 🌍 Exciting News in Green Cement! 🏗️ We are proud to see our portfolio company, Sublime Systems, leading the charge in decarbonizing the cement industry, which accounts for roughly 8% of global emissions. This week, Holcim AG and CRH PLC announced a $75M investment into Sublime to accelerate their groundbreaking electrochemical cement production process, which has demonstrated a 90% reduction in CO2 emissions in early tests. This exciting development was recently featured in Bloomberg by Michelle Ma. 🌱 With the backing of industry leaders and a commitment to scaling up through a 30,000-ton-per-year commercial plant by 2026, Sublime is well on its way to transforming the construction sector.
