Last week, we celebrated the new home for Dignity Health's Special Needs and Community Outreach at the Marian building. This “homecoming” ribbon-cutting ceremony was so special because it is a full circle moment to where the services of caring for the poor and underserved started in the 1960’s. "We celebrate our homecoming, carrying on the legacy of the sisters of Mercy - as we move forward with developing and delivering services for high-risk underserved populations because health comes first beyond the walls of Mercy & Memorial Hospitals," said Regional Director Donna Sharp. The Department now runs over 40 programs across Kern County, in areas such as Bakersfield, Delano, Shafter and other communities with limited access to health care services. Their programs assist low-income or uninsured individuals, along with Kern County residents with unmet health needs. We were honored to celebrate alongside: ▫️ Donna Sharp, Regional Director, Special Needs and Community Outreach ▫️ Ken Keller, President/CEO, Bakersfield Memorial Hospital ▫️ Sister Judy Morasci ▫️ Jay Tamsi, President/CEO, Kern County Hispanic Chamber ▫️ Janelle Capra, President/CEO, Greater Bakersfield Chamber Learn more at https://lnkd.in/gmtWyX77.
