A bittersweet moment as one of BCRI’s AmeriCorps VISTA members, Adam Isaacs, has concluded his volunteer service term after working with BCRI since October 2023. During his year supporting BCRI’s internal capacity, Adam (pictured left next to project director Nicholas Richard) helped improve, enhance, and troubleshoot numerous data-related functions & tools, resulting in a dozen substantive program recommendations for the enhanced management and utilization of program data. We are extremely thankful to Adam for his support & professionalism, and wish him the best of luck as he pursues post-graduate education opportunities! #americorps #vista #data #capacity #antipoverty #behavioralhealth #crisisservices

Last week, BCRI held a wonderful joint lunch & learn training (“988 Helpline Referrals - What Happens Next?”) in partnership with Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center! Topics covered included an overview of the 988 Regional Call Center and Howard County Crisis Response Services. The event was well attended, with 44 attendees learning more about 988 and available crisis services in Howard County, including valuable information to educate their clients about this new resource. BCRI is always glad to participate in training and education on crisis services and all that 988 has to offer. BCRI is #feelingexcited after the exit conference for its most recent CARF site survey for new children & adolescent services. Notably, CARF provided zero quality improvement recommendations, a feat achieved by only around 3% of all of CARF's 60,000+ sites. What's more, the surveyors provided glowing feedback as a result of their survey experience: 💡BCRI has experienced employees who take on leadership roles and foster a collaborative work environment and a culture of development, growth, community, and belonging. 💡BCRI recognizes & prioritizes the need to build meaningful relationships and create a supportive culture. 💡Health & safety of personnel is high priority & facilities are neat, clean, and well-established. 💡Community stakeholders & funders are very satisfied by BCRI services, and praised BCRI for flexibility, cooperativeness, and integrity. 💡There is a strong sense of commitment and dedication to BCRI's service recipients, stakeholder, and staff. 💡BCRI has a talented team of committed administrators, managers, and staff with robust experience to transition to new services that allow them to treat vulnerable individuals and families where they are in the community. Great job BCRI team! #bcri #crisisservices #behavioralhealth #community

BCRI is deeply honored to have been the recipient of the Latino Providers Network of MD's 2024 President’s Award. Presented at this week’s LPN Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration, this distinction recognizes BCRI’s assistance and support provided to the families affected by the Francis Scott Key Bridge Collapse. Within hours of the event, BCRI staff joined other providers and partners to connect affected community members to resources and coordinate follow-up services. Pictured below is Quinita Garrett, BCRI’s Director of Call Center & System Coordination, who helped spearhead BCRI’s immediate response. Our hearts are with those lost in the Key Bridge tragedy as well as those who continue to feel the lasting impacts of the event. BCRI is forever grateful for its ability to provide crisis services and supports when our communities need it the most. #support #community #crisisservices #bcri
