September is Addiction Awareness Month, and one week ago today Baptist’s Center of Excellence in Addiction Medicine and Tipton Prevents hosted an event on International Overdose Awareness Day in memory of the 26 victims who died from overdose in Tipton County this year. The Tennessee Department of Health reports 577 people died of a drug overdose in Shelby County in 2022, the highest number in the state. Baptist Children’s Hospital has a Girl Scouts of the USA benefactor! Seventeen-year-old Girl Scout Sarah Gruber dedicated her Gold Award project to helping patients at Baptist Children’s Hospital.
