Last week, we celebrated the groundbreaking for Phase One of the new Athletic Village at Virginia Commonwealth University! Phase One will involve the construction of two practice fields, a combined track and field facility, and a soccer stadium. Once the Atheltic Village is complete, the 42-acre site will also feature indoor and outdoor tennis courts, a multipurpose building with an indoor track, and more amenities. We are excited to partner with the university on the first step of bringing this vision to life! To learn more about our Higher Ed and Sports work, visit our website: https://lnkd.in/eiMNt2gQ

Over the past 100 years, we’ve built a lot of iconic projects — some more recognizable than others. Can you #NameThatProject before the last photo? Built on land that was once part of Lake Michigan, this project required extensive planning, design reviews, and constructability reviews. The end result, however, is a stunning elevated building with a 45-foot tall suspended girt curtainwall that provides an unobstructed view of the water. Inside its walls, this project features indoor practice space, a sports medicine center, nutrition center, and designated locker rooms and training spaces for Division 1 and intramural sports. #BartonMalow100 #BuildingTodayForABetterTomorrow #Since1924

The Barton Malow team not only had a blast at the annual Bulls Blast sporting clays tournament but also took home the first-place trophy! A big thank you to industry partners Linda and Randy Simmons for putting together this wonderful event that directly benefits local Tampa, Florida projects, programs, and scholarships for talented student-athletes.

This month marks 23 years since moving into our new team member-designed and built headquarters building in Southfield, Michigan. Together, Barton Malow team members created a one-of-a-kind space, rising four stories over serene wetlands, with a dramatic glass curtainwall sloping inward. Here are some photos from its construction. #FromTheArchive #BartonMalow100 #BuildingTodayForABetterTomorrow #Since1924

Happy Halloween! 🎃 In the late 70s and 80s, Barton Malow had a newsletter called This & That, which was used to share project updates, company news, personnel profiles, and even included a cartoon section drawn by our In-House Counsel at the time Gene Twitchell. This funny take on Halloween and construction was published in the fall of 1978. #BartonMalow100 #BuildingTodayForABetterTomorrow #Since1924

It was our pleasure to host a site walk to show UNC Charlotte personnel the progress we're making on Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium before last weekend's The University of Memphis - University of North Carolina at Charlotte football game. We're currently renovating the historic Liberty Bowl and in the preconstruction phase on UNC Charlotte's Richardson Stadium renovation and expansion. The only thing better than the site tour might have been the game itself. Congratulations to Memphis for pulling out the win on a late score! Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eZZUxX4M

Last week, we celebrated the completion of DTE Energy's Sauk Solar Park! Located in Branch County, Michigan, Sauk Solar is the largest DTE solar park to date and has 347,000 solar panels that can generate enough clean energy to power approximately 40,000 homes. During construction, Barton Malow self performed civil, pile, racking, and module installation. We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with DTE and remain dedicated to advancing renewable energy projects that benefit our communities. Congratulations to our self perform and project teams (partially pictured below) for their hard work! To learn more about Barton Malow's energy work, visit our website: https://lnkd.in/envQMNDT

The walls are up at the Tennessee Wings of Liberty Museum! We erected the walls via tilt-up concrete panel construction, where walls are molded and poured right on the foundation and then flipped into place using a crane. We went from foundations to wall panels in place in just one month! Fort Campbell Historical Foundation Commonwealth Development Group Inc.

Helping build a cleaner, more sustainable energy resource for the community generates more than just electricity. For Barton Malow team members, it also generates an immense sense of pride. As we round out #NationalEnergyAwarenessMonth, we're reflecting on the impact that Delta Energy Park has had on the greater Lansing, Michigan area. #BartonMalow100 #BuildingTodayForABetterTomorrow #Since1924
