With a heavy heart, we share that Bellevue Arts Museum (BAM) will be closing its doors today, marking the end of an era for our beloved institution that has served our community since 1947. This decision has been incredibly difficult and follows significant financial challenges that we have been unable to overcome. BAM has been more than just a museum; it has been a space for creativity, learning, and connection. From the passion of our founding community to the iconic exhibitions and events like the Bellevue Arts Fair, BAM has been a cornerstone of Bellevue's cultural identity. Despite our best efforts to navigate financial instability, we have reached a point where we can no longer sustain our operations. We understand the deep sadness this news brings, and we share in your heartbreak. We want to express our deepest gratitude to our incredible staff, docents, volunteers and you all who have supported us through the years. Your dedication and love for BAM have made this journey worthwhile. While this chapter closes, we hold onto hope for a new beginning. BAM has filed for Receivership with the goal of protecting our assets and exploring potential restructuring. Though this path is uncertain, it offers a chance for reinvention and new opportunities.
